Embrace Kids

Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and people.

— Luke 2:52

At Embrace Church, we believe that people of all ages matter, which is why you won’t find just traditional childcare for kids while adults do the “important” stuff. Instead, you’ll find age-appropriate spaces for spiritual learning and growth, along with committed Embrace Kids leaders who have a heart for making disciples in the youngest generation. We approach this in a unique way for each phase of a child’s life, making purposeful investment in each child during our Sunday gatherings, while also partnering with and equipping parents to be the primary disciplers of their children.

Infant through pre-K children spend their Sundays in Embrace Kids Jr. - a safe and nurturing space to begin a life long journey with Jesus. Through engaging stories & activities, repeated patterns of worship, scripture memory & prayer, and familiar adults who know and care for them, each child learns 3 simple truths: God Made Me, God Loves Me, and Jesus Wants to Be My Friend Forever.

School-aged children in kindergarten through 5th grade gather each Sunday in a space we call Embrace Kids. They experience a worship service geared especially towards their phase of life. They also find spiritual community in small groups with leaders who guide them in learning the ways that God intends for us to live in this world, and point them to Jesus as they discover the need for his salvation.

About Embrace Kids

  • We can’t wait to meet your family and we look forward to welcoming you to Embrace Kids! On your first visit, stop by the New Family Check-In table in our lobby and our team will assist you in registering your children.

  • Each child receives a name tag at check-in that includes a unique alphanumeric code. Parents receive a tag with the corresponding alphanumeric code and use this to pick up their child after worship, ensuring safe return of each child to the correct parent. Only a parent or other trusted adult (not a child or youth) may be the one to use this tag to pick up your child.

We will confirm the mobile phone number of a parent who is present at check in, so that should a special need arise with your child, we may send you a text.

Be sure to let us know at check-in if your child has any allergies or special needs so that we may notify their leaders of the best ways to accommodate your child in our environment.

  • We believe that children’s faith grows best when individual families and the church partner together to have influence on each child. One way we do this is by having two consistent small group leaders who meet with your child on a two weeks on, two weeks off basis. These leaders want to know your child and your family! In addition, there are some specific ways that you as a parent can make your home a place where children grow deeper into the truths they learn with their church family on Sundays. Each week in both Embrace Kids and Embrace Kids Jr., we send home a “Parent Cue” to let you know the memory verse, Bottom Line, and Bible story that your child is learning each week. It includes suggestions for ways you can reinforce these concepts with your child during the everyday times you interact with them like meal times and car time. The Parent Cue app can also be downloaded on your phone or tablet for access to many of the resources we share with your children on Sundays.

  • At Embrace Church, no one simply “serves” with Embrace Kids. Instead we “lead” our Embrace Kids on teams that are committed to know and love the children and families in our church. There are many types of roles on our Embrace Kids teams, allowing an opportunity for 6th graders through senior adults to lead in ways that suit their capacity and giftings. From small group leaders to music and nursery helpers, all leaders are carefully selected, as they hold great responsibility in investing in our next generation. If you are interested in joining the team, contact our Children’s Minister, Beth Cofield at beth@embraceauburn.org.
